Previewing the Legislative Season

Did you know that Kentucky has more Unitarian Universalists in the state legislature than Massachusetts does?  Join KY Reps. Kelly Flood, Lisa Willner and Rachel Roberts at our December All Network Gathering, on Wednesday, December 2 at at 7pm ET (6pm CT). Register Here.  This event will be closed-captioned!

Our All Network Gatherings are the first Wednesday of every month.  All Unitarian Universalists in Kentucky are invited to these free, online gatherings. Here is a preview of the next two:

  • December 2: Looking at the Upcoming Legislative Season, with special guests, Kentucky State Representatives (and UUs!) Kelly Flood, Lisa Wilner and Rachel Roberts.
  • January 6: The 8th Principle. What is it, and how might your congregation pass it?  Special guests Paula Cole Jones and testimony from the UU Church in Lexington!

Today is #GivingTuesday, a day when people around the globe come together in unity and showing kindness and generosity in all its forms by giving their voice, time, money, goods, and advocacy to support communities and causes.

Though our KUUJAN Coordinator's salary is funded through the generosity of Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church, we still need funding to expand our programming, provide closed captioning for our meetings and All Network Gatherings, and more . Please consider donating on this special day of generosity.

Democratic Justice Team

The Democratic Justice Team is excited about our KUUJAN All Network Gathering on December 2 (see above! Register here) and will be taking a cue about our next steps from what our UU State Legislators share with us. We anticipate a focus on issues such as gerrymandering and redistricting, expanding early voting in Kentucky, and more. We meet on the fourth Monday of every month at 6pm CT (7pm ET).  Watch the KUUJAN website for details.

Racial Justice Team

Has your congregation talked about the 8th Principle yet? Many congregations in Kentucky have not. The proposed 8th principle states:

We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote: journeying toward spiritual wholeness by working to build a diverse multicultural Beloved Community by our actions that accountably dismantle racism and other oppressions in ourselves and our institutions.

The Racial Justice Team is sponsoring the January 6 KUUJAN All Network Gathering so that congregations can learn more about this important principle and what congregations can do to pass it.

Starting in January, the Racial Justice Team will be meeting at 6pm CT (7pm ET) on the second Monday of the month. Watch our website for details.
